What is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist?

An Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) is a pre-licensed therapist, who is working toward becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). AMFTs have to reach a certain amount of hours, post-graduate, to become a LMFT. AMFTs are also required to be under supervision of a licensed professional to gain more guidance and insight in becoming a better therapist!

Unfortunately, I do not. I am an out-of-network provider. However, I can provide a superbill to you upon request that you can send to your insurance for reimbursement. I would confirm with your insurance first to see what their policies are on session reimbursements.

Therapy should be accessible to everyone as many of us want to improve our mental wellbeing. I accept sliding scale fees with Open Path clients. However, I can also provide referrals to affordable resources—reach out to discuss your options.

Yes. I offer virtual session for those who prefer the convenience of meeting in the comfort of your home.

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and discuss your goals for therapy. I know it can be uncomfortable meeting someone new for the first time as trust is built, but this a good opportunity for us to work together to help you on your healing journey

The goal of therapy is to keep it consistent. I recommend weekly sessions to increase progress and priority for your mental well-being. However,  Although, the frequency of sessions varies for each person. During your first session, we will discuss a schedule that works best for you.

Yes. Everything that you share in therapy is confidential, expect in cases where there is harm to yourself or others, child abuse, dependent abuse, and elder abuse. Privacy is very important in therapeutic settings, and I will discuss confidentiality with you in detail during your first session.
